This second edition of Australasia’s first and only air law moot court competition open to all Australian and New Zealand universities, took place on September 28 and 29 in Brisbane, hosted by the University of Queensland.  The event, which commenced in 2014 by co-conveners Charles Giacco and Joseph Wheeler, was an immense success and none more so than for the winning team, the University of Auckland, who impressed the Grand Final Bench consisting of Judge Rangiah of the Federal Court of Australia, Gerard Mullins (barrister), and Joseph Wheeler.  The Auckland team was very evenly matched with their grand final adversaries, the University of Queensland.

A selection of photos from the event, which was proudly sponsored by McGill University Institute of Air and Space Law, Australian Federation of Air Pilots, International Aerospace Law & Policy Group (IALPG), Aviation Law Association of Australia and New Zealand, and the University of Queensland, are presented below.

All photos are courtesy of the University of Queensland who provided a splendid environment for the mooters who were able to give their best performances arguing a problem with similarities to the MH17 downing of July, 2014, and heard within the forum of the International Court of Justice.  For more information see the website of the University of Queensland here.
