In the afternoon of 13 July 2025 UTC a small passenger aircraft crashed during takeoff at Southend Airport (SEN) in Essex, UK en route to Lelystad Airport (LEY) in The Netherlands.

Reports suggest the aircraft was either a Beechcraft King Air B200 or Super King Air 200, both twin engine aircrafts which typically, but not exclusively, are used for chartering services.

The incident resulted in a fireball visible in the sky. Casualty information is still being gathered at this time.

Airport personnel from Southend Airport have began working with authorities to investigate the cause of the crash, and emergency response teams are present at the scene.

IALPG wishes to extend our deepest condolences to those affected by this tragic incident.
