I have today submitted a complaint to the United Nations Human Rights Council about Australia’s travel ban on those presently seeking return to Australia from India, which ban includes Australian citizens and breaches a raft of international human rights, international health (and by virtue of their relatedness, international aviation) laws.
I am looking forward to scrutiny by the Council, or its experts and Committees, of Australia’s actions and encourage all Australians affected by the unjust emergency application of the Biosecurity Act 2015 since 1 May to seek legal advice about their options, including from the many Australian lawyers such as myself, who have undertaken to act for our countrymen and women without professional fee or charge.
